Residents can participate in free tire collection

Countywide program starts Aug. 3.

Laketown Township residents are eligible for three upcoming tire collection events in August.

Anyone in the county may participate. There is no charge.

These events will be on a first-come, first-serve basis until the semi-trailer is full. Residents are limited to 10 passenger tires per household and four agricultural/semi tires per household. Tires on rims will be accepted.

The events are:

Saturday Aug. 3 from 9 a.m. to noon at Salem Township Transfer Station, 4145 29th St., Dorr;

Saturday Aug. 10 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Allegan County Human Services Building, 3255 122nd Ave., Allegan;

Tuesday Aug. 27 from 9 a.m. to noon at the City of Otsego Department of Public Works, 243 N. Farmer St., Otsego.
