Weather delays opening of 64th Street

Work linked to new development taking longer than planned.

The detour at 64th Street between 147th Avenue and 32nd Street in Laketown Township will continue possibly until Thursday, Nov. 13, 2025.

Paving needs to be completed and has been delayed by cold, wet weather.

The road has been closed since Oct. 23 for storm pipe installation linked to the new Laketown Meadows development. There are 28 units planned for the area on the east side of 64th Street.

The road was originally planned to be closed for about a week.
