Applications available for hunting at Huyser Farm Park

Deadline to turn in forms for this year’s archery hunt is Sept. 12.

Huyser Farm Park, 4188 64th St., remains open for hiking, fishing and other recreational activities during hunting times. Signs will be in place in the parking area notifying people that hunting is underway.

Applications are now available for the 2025 Laketown Township Archery Deer Hunting Program at Huyser Farm Park, 4188 64th St.

Applications are available at Graafschap Hardware, 4578 60th St., Laketown Township Hall, 4338 Beeline Road, and on the township website by clicking here.

Forms must be returned to the hardware store with a signed consent sheet no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 12, 2025.  There is no cost or fee to enter the drawing.

Hunters are required to fill out a questionnaire after the season. Failure to do so will disqualify the hunter from future permits.

Fifteen hunters in total will be selected for five different time periods from Oct. 1 through Nov. 14 and Dec. 1 through Jan. 1, 2026.

After the application deadline, a lottery drawing will be used to select the hunters. Results will be announced no later than Sept. 21.

The packet includes a list of rules and regulations.

The hunting program began in 2008.

In 2024, one hunter was successful in getting a deer.

In 2023, four hunters reported bagging deer. In 2022, two hunters reported getting deer.
