Board members, commissioners sworn in

New and returning members of the Laketown Township Board of Trustees and the Parks and Recreation Commission were sworn in so they can take on their duties after the Nov. 5, 2024, election.

Those sworn in on or before Nov. 21:

Township Board: Supervisor Steve Ringelberg, Treasurer Jim Johnson, Clerk Jim Delaney, Trustee Mike Koeman and Trustee Mark Timmerman.

Parks Commissioners: Brad Laninga, Mary Jo Bertolino, Sherry Sirko, Michael Teekamp and Tom Hoekman.

Jim Johnson is sworn in as Laketown Township Treasurer on Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2024, at the Laketown Township Hall, 4338 Beeline Road.

Mike Koeman is sworn in as a Laketown Township trustee on Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2024, at Laketown Township Hall, 4338 Beeline Road..

Mark Timmerman is sworn in as a Laketown Township trustee on Thursday, Nov. 21, 2024, at Laketown Township Hall, 4338 Beeline Road.

Terms of office began at noon Nov. 20. Board members and parks commissioners serve 4-year terms.

The short ceremonies occurred at the township hall, 4338 Beeline Road. Each person held up their right hand and repeated: “I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support the Constitution of the United States, and the Constitution of this State, and that I will faithfully discharge the duties of the office of (insert office here) in and for the Township of Laketown, County of Allegan and State of Michigan, according to the best of my ability.”

The oath is signed, witnessed and dated. It is filed in the township office.
