Christmas tree pickup starts Jan. 1

Remove lights, ornaments, tinsel before putting tree out for collection.

Laketown Township residents can put their old Christmas trees at the curb for pickup the first two weeks of January.

Republic Services will gather the trees on a resident’s regular pickup day Thursday, Jan. 1, 2026, through Thursday, Jan. 15.

Please remove the decorations, including lights, ornaments and tinsel. Republic requests the trees be cut in half if possible.

“While it’s tempting to take shortcuts when you’re tired after a busy holiday season, take the time to be thoughtful about how and where you toss your spent holiday décor,” the website said.
