Deadline is April 23 to be on August primary ballot

Offices open at the township level include supervisor, clerk, treasurer, trustee and parks commission.

The deadline to submit nominating petitions for the Aug. 6 primary election is 4 p.m. Tuesday, April 23.

Petitions for federal, state, county and local positions as well as judgeships, are available through the state, county or local municipality.

Those seeking local partisan office must file by the April 23 deadline to be on the August ballot. Winners in the August primary vote move on to the November general election.

Those running without political party affiliation in November do not need to file until July 18. Write-ins for the November election must file by Oct. 25.
