Farview Park briefly closed during police investigation
Man found dead in vehicle, police say there is no danger to the public.
The Allegan County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the cause of death of a man found alone in a vehicle Friday afternoon, July 25, 2025, in the parking lot at Farview Park, 6257 138th Ave. in Laketown Township.
The call of an unresponsive male in a vehicle was made to the sheriff’s office by Laketown Township.
The park was briefly closed while the sheriff’s office investigated.
Steven Ringelberg, supervisor and manager of Laketown Township, said, “I spoke with the sheriff’s department to confirm that further information, if any, will come from the sheriff’s department. The sheriff’s department also stated that this is no danger to the public.”
Farview Park is 87 acres and includes wetlands, low dunes, deep woods and an open meadow with two ponds. Besides scenic paths, the park includes equestrian trails.
