Laketown Township wants to make sure all veterans buried at Gibson Cemetery are remembered on Memorial Day weekend.

Flags for grave sites of veterans at the cemetery are available for free at the township hall, 4338 Beeline Road. Stop in during regular office hours to get a free flag to place at the headstone.

Hours are:

  • 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. — Monday, Tuesday, Thursday
  • 7:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. – Wednesday
  • 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. — Friday

If you are unable to place a flag yourself, the township will place the flag for you upon request. Call the township hall at (616) 335-3050 or email office@laketowntwp.org.

The township will remove the flags on the Tuesday following Memorial Day.
