Free-For-All Day helps start Felt Mansion tour season

Indoor scavenger hunt on Easter and an Earth Day special are set for April.

People enjoy the Felt Mansion, 6597 138th Ave. in September during a Free-For-All tour event. The first Free-For-All Day – self-guided tours at no charge – for 2026 is 1-4 p.m. Sunday, April 5.

The Felt Mansion will open for self-guided tours beginning March 30, 2026, with tours continuing throughout April. The season will kick off with new, self-guided tour hours, and an Easter-themed Free-For-All event on April 5 from 1-4 p.m. This free event will feature an indoor scavenger hunt for children.

Later in the month, guests and volunteers are invited to take part in an Earth Day cleanup of the estate grounds on April 22, helping prepare the property for the busy spring and summer seasons. Those who participate will receive free tour admission and a reusable Felt Estate water bottle.

Tours

Self-guided tours resume on Monday, March 30, from 2-7 p.m. at the Mansion, 6597 138th Ave.

The week’s self-guided tours continue on Tuesday from noon-5 p.m., and Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

These tours are $10 for adults 18 and up, $8 for seniors and students (60 and older and college student), and $5 for people 8 to 17 years old.  Admission is free for those under 8 years old.

A self-guided tour generally takes about 45 minutes to an hour with direction by a tour booklet, which includes architectural and historical details about the estate, plus two videos that play on repeat. The Felt Mansion can accommodate groups of any size, and visitors of all ages are welcome.

Free-For-All

The first Free-For-All Day – self-guided tours at no charge – is 1-4 p.m. Sunday, April 5.

Join an Easter-themed indoor scavenger hunt for children under 17 that includes candy and prizes. Participants will mark items off as they find them and once completed, receive an egg filled with either candy or a toy.

Free-For-All Day events, the first Sunday of the month through October, started in 2024 as a way to share local history and thank the community for its support in the restoration process.

Earth Day

On Wednesday, April 22 – Earth Day – from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., pick up trash and recyclables around the Felt Estate and Saugatuck Dunes State Park. Bring them back to the Mansion where they will be properly handled and receive free admission for that day’s self-guided tours and a Felt Estate reusable water bottled.
