Gibson Cemetery sign getting a new look

The sign for Gibson Cemetery is getting some needed tender loving care.

Jeff Partyka, facilities operations for Laketown Township, recently brought the wooden sign, about 4.5 feet wide by 3 feet high and 2 inches thick, to the township hall where he sanded the sign, cleaned it up and is now repainting it. The new colors make it brighter.

The sign will be put back at the cemetery in the spring.

Gibson Cemetery, 6487 138th Ave., is 4 acres.

Cost for Laketown Township residents/taxpayers is $100 per plot for the first two plots purchased and $500 for additional plots.

Cost for non-residents/non-taxpayers is $600 per plot.
