Giving the dusty trails a good spring cleaning

Warm temperatures, sunshine bring out community pride.

Warm weather and sunshine are a great mix for being outdoors in Laketown Township.

Lee Freeland of Standing Stone Drive has spent the last several days trimming the edges along the multi-use path on Beeline Road and cleaning up dirt and debris from along the pathway.

“It’s my home. It’s my community,” he said, and he takes pride in keeping it looking nice.

The township has more than 10 miles of shared-use paths and they are the most popular recreational feature in the township, according to a 2023 Laketown Township Parks and Recreation Commission survey.
