Graafschap Fire Department responds to fire, medical and other emergency situations in all of Laketown Township and part of Fillmore Township, and assists other agencies as needed.
The department also takes a proactive approach to prevention, offering free home safety inspections, free blood pressure checks on Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to noon at the firehouse, 4534 60th St., and quarterly blood drives as part of its Community Risk Reduction Program.

Pancake breakfast
The annual Graafschap Fire Department Fourth of July Pancake Breakfast is 6 to 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 4, at the fire station, 4534 60th St.
Organizers are asking for a $6 donation for adults and a $3 donation for children.
The breakfast includes pancakes, sausage links, coffee, milk and orange juice.
All fire trucks will be on display and firefighters will be on hand to answer questions. Information on fire safety, cardiopulmonary resuscitation classes, green address signs and recruiting information will also be available.
