The Laketown Township Board of Trustees cancelled its regular meeting for Nov. 8 so the Graafschap Fire Department report for October was not delivered. Here’s the October report:

Total calls: 65

Calls in Fillmore Township:

  • 4 fire calls
  • 8 medical/rescue calls

Calls in Laketown Township:

  • 11 fire calls,
  • 38 medical/rescue calls

Assists to other departments:

  • 2 fire calls – 1 to Hamilton, 1 to the Allegan County Sheriff’s Department
  • 2 medical/rescue calls – 1 to Holland, 1 to the Allegan County Sheriff’s Department

Assists from other departments:

  • 2 from Saugatuck, 1 from Hamilton, 1 from Holland

The Graafschap Fire Department, which serves all of Laketown Township and part of Fillmore Township, offers free home safety inspections, free blood pressure checks on Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to noon at the firehouse, 4534 60th St., short- and long-term rental inspections, and quarterly blood drives.
