Herrick library celebrating renovations

Open house is 7-8 p.m. Feb. 20 at the Main Library.

The Herrick District Library is celebrating its renovations with a community-wide party from 7-8 p.m. Thursday, February 20, 2025, at the Main Library, 300 S. River Ave.

Work began in 2023 to make navigation smoother through the building. Study rooms have been added as well as new space in the Groundworks digital learning and maker space for classes, workshops and independent workstations. The children’s area has been improved with a tree house and two-story play structure. A cozy reading area with a double-sided fireplace is also available.

The roof was also updated and repaired.

The community-wide party will offer something for everyone from live music to balloon animals, photo booth fun to sweet snacks.

Lakewood Construction is sponsoring and helped plan this event.
