Parker sworn in as alternate to board of review

Board of review hears appeals from property owners.

Ted Parker was sworn in as an alternate for the Laketown Township Board of Review on Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2025.

Parker was nominated by township Supervisor Steven Ringelberg at the Dec. 11 township board meeting and unanimously approved by the board.

Parker’s term runs through Jan. 1, 2027.

The board of review hears appeals from property owners about property assessments and qualified errors on the assessment roll. The board meets in December, March and July.

An alternate fills in when a board of review member cannot make a meeting.

The members of the board of review are Helen Heneveld, Barb Hibiske and Kevin Stoike.

The township board approved several appointments on Dec. 11:

  • The reappointment of Gary Dewey to the Herrick District Library Board.
  • The reappointment of Bob Schaftenaar to the Laketown Township Building Authority.
  • The reappointment of Dale Burkett as Laketown Township Zoning Board of Appeals Alternate.
  • The appointment of Manager Stephanie Fox to be the Laketown Township representative to the Administrative Committee of the Holland Board of Public Works.
