The Laketown Township Parks and Recreation Commission will meet in a different location than usual for its Dec. 17, 2025, meeting.

The commission will meet at the Carriage House at the Felt Estate, 6579 138th Ave. The meeting starts at 6 p.m.

The agenda has not yet been set.

Zoom will not be available.

The commission usually meets at the township hall, 4338 Beeline Road, on the third Wednesday of each month. This month, though, the zoning board of appeals is meeting at 5:30 p.m. at the township hall. The zoning board moved from its regular Nov. 26 meeting because of its proximity to the Thanksgiving holiday.

The parks commission, an elected board, is made up of Chairperson Brad Laninga, and members Tom Hoekman, Mary Jo Bertolino, Sherry Sirko and Michael Teekamp.

The mission statement of the Laketown Township Parks and Recreation Commission through its board of commissioners, staff, programs, services and facilities, seeks to enhance the quality of life and the environment, to acquire, conserve and protect natural resources, and to provide quality leisure time opportunities for the benefit of the community.
