Planned power outage for parts of township
Consumers Energy says service will be down July 11 in some areas.

Consumers Energy has announced a planned electric outage that will affect many Laketown Township residents from 11 p.m. Saturday, July 11, to 6 a.m. Sunday, July 12, 2026. The backup date is July 18.
The outage is needed to upgrade high voltage equipment to enhance reliability, according to Consumers Energy.
About 2,700 customers will be impacted. The general area is from the lakeshore in the north to 60th Street and south to around 140th Avenue.
Customers will be notified via a postcard.
