Put Christmas trees out for pickup starting Jan. 1

Laketown Township residents can put their old Christmas trees at the curb for pickup the first two weeks of January.

Republic Services will gather the trees on a resident’s regular pickup day Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2025, through Wednesday, Jan. 15.

Please remove the decorations, including lights, ornaments and tinsel. Republic requests the trees be cut in half if possible.

Republic offers a list of tips on how to properly dispose of holiday décor on its website. Click here for the full list.

“While it’s tempting to take shortcuts when you’re tired after a busy holiday season, take the time to be thoughtful about how and where you toss your spent holiday décor,” the website said.
