A section of Laketown Township’s multi-use path is expected to be open by Thursday morning, April 11, 2024, after significant repairs led to its closure for about a week.

The wooden bridge along 62nd Street between 144th and 145th avenues needed replacements of posts, railings and boards to maintain its structural integrity, according to Brett Grams, facilities operations for the township.

Work was completed by Onder Construction, 2386 142nd Ave. in Dorr.

Last year, the township replaced boards on bridges along the about 10 miles of multi-use paths.

There are eight bridges in the township system. All were installed in 2010.
