The snow is piling up and so are the options for winter recreation, but outdoor activities should not include snowmobiling on Laketown Township shared-use paths or parks.

Township ordinances (Sec. 32-137) specifically prohibit snowmobiles or any type of motor vehicle on any path within the township, except to enter or leave adjacent property.

Snowmobiles can pose a safety hazard for pedestrians on the paths. The vehicles also pack down the snow on the paths making it more difficult for crews to plow and clear the areas.

Snowmobiles are not allowed in township parks (Sec. 24-20).
