Sprucing up around the township
Work underway on paths, Wolters Woods, Old Township Hall.

Work crews were busy all around the Laketown Township on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, sprucing up park properties.
Path work: Crews from Heavener Property Service of Saugatuck along with Brett Grams, facilities operations of Laketown Township, began clearing overgrowth from the about 10 miles of shared-use paths starting along 64th Street.

Playground: Windwood Property Services LLC, spread engineered wood fiber (EWF), a type of mulch, at the playground at Wolters Woods Park, 6281 147th Ave. The playground is closed until the work is complete. The Laketown Township Parks and Recreation Commission approved the work last week.

Painting: Michael James VandenBrink of VandenBrink Painting LLC continued his work of caulking and painting the Old Township Hall, 6280 142nd Ave. He has already removed much of the old paint, will finish caulking then paint the building that served the township from 1883-1987.
The parks commission approved VandenBrink in April to do the work.
