Laketown Township is doing some spring cleaning, getting stones, dirt and debris off the multi-use paths so dog-walkers, joggers and bicycle riders can safely enjoy the improving weather.

Brett Grams of Laketown Township Facilities Operations started sweeping the paths earlier this week and continues the work – weather permitting – to clean the more than 10 miles of paths stretching from Blue Star Highway to the south to the Ottawa County line to the north.

The township purchased a 66-inch rotary broom last spring to attach to its utility terrain vehicle. Before the purchase, the township cleared the paths by hand when possible.
