The Laketown Township office, 4338 Beeline Road, will close at noon on Friday, May 10. The office will reopen for normal operation on Monday, May 13, at 7:30 a.m.

The closure is due to the installation of a new generator. Power will be out at the hall that afternoon. Telephones will not be operational when the power is out.

The nonemergency phones at the Graafschap Fire Department and the phones at the Felt Mansion will also be down during the power outage.

Emergency service will not be impacted. Call 911 for all emergencies.

Those seeking burn permits should call before noon on Friday.

The township board approved in February the purchase of a new generator from West Michigan Generator of Hudsonville. The previous generator was about 30 years old and did not function. It failed to work during an October 2023 power outage leaving the township hall dark for more than 4 hours.
