Township looking for election inspectors

Laketown Township is looking for up to five additional election inspectors to support the upcoming elections, including the Aug. 5, 2025, ballot.

“We already have a solid team, but as we’ve learned, it’s always smart to have reliable backups — life happens!” said Deputy Clerk Zoey Hallam.

Required training is 9 a.m. to noon Monday, July 22, at the township hall, 4338 Beeline Road.

What election inspectors do

Election inspectors help ensure Election Day runs smoothly and fairly.

The township is also looking for a few more inspectors to work in the precinct, with full or partial shifts available. Tasks may include checking in voters, issuing ballots, monitoring the ballot tabulator, and assisting with end-of-day procedures. Attention to detail, professionalism, and commitment to election security are essential. Inspectors are expected to be courteous, punctual, and ready to follow election law and procedures.

Receiving board

The township also needs detail-oriented individuals to serve on the Receiving Board. This role runs from 8 p.m. to around 11 p.m. on Election Night and is responsible for double-checking that all numbers match, paperwork is complete, ballot bags are sealed, and documents are ready for delivery to the county.
