Township office closed due to weather

The Laketown Township office is closed today, Monday, Jan. 19, 2026, due to the weather.

Many township services are available on the website at https://laketowntwp.org/

Laketown Township is included in a winter storm warning issued by the National Weather Service.

Heavy snow and blowing snow with near blizzard conditions are possible. Additional snow accumulations between 4 and 6 inches. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph.

Travel is not recommended near and west of U.S. 131 this morning into the afternoon.

In a Facebook post about 5:30 a.m., the Allegan County Road Commission said its trucks are on the roads.

“We have crews out plowing this morning, but you won’t be able to tell due to the poor visibility and blowing snow. If you have to be out today be very careful as you can’t see even a few feet at times,” the road commission wrote.

Laketown’s office, 4338 Beeline Road, is expected to be open on Tuesday, Jan. 20, from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
