Free-For-All Day events — self-guided tours at no charge — are the first Sunday of the month through October at the mansion\, 6597 138th Ave. in Laketown Township. A self-guided tour generally takes about 45 minutes to an hour with direction by a tour booklet\, which includes architectural and historical details about the estate\, plus two videos that play on repeat. The Felt Mansion can accommodate groups of any size\, and visitors of all ages are welcome. \nOnly the first floor of the mansion is handicap accessible. There is no cost for observers\, but space is limited. \nReserve a spot at parks@laketowntwp.org \nThe Talking Stick has traditionally been used in council circles. The stick would designate who had the right to speak (whoever holds the stick speaks and all others listen). The stick is then passed to the next person before their turn to speak.

DESCRIPTION:On Saturday\, March 29\, 2025\, at 10 a.m. at the Carriage House on the Felt Estate\, join West Michigan CISMA and the Allegan Conservation District to learn how to identify and manage common woody invasive species and explore the impacts of the forest pest hemlock woolly adelgid (HWA) on West Michigan. \nPresentation by Allegan Conservation District\, Murielle Garbarino\, Invasive Species Management Area Coordinator\, and Jason Cass\, Conservation Technician. \nThe West Michigan Conservation Network\, formerly the West Michigan Cooperative Invasive Species Management Area (CISMA)\, covers Allegan\, Kent\, Montcalm\, Muskegon\, Newaygo\, Oceana\, and Ottawa counties. This organization is a volunteer organization composed of environmental groups\, governmental organizations\, nonprofit organizations\, and private residents all working to address invasive species on a local scale. The goal of this group is to provide outreach on invasive species and their impacts as well conducting invasive species management on both public and private land.

Space is limited to 25 so contact Parks@laketowntwp.org to hold your spot. \nThis CPR class is an expansion of the fire department’s Community Risk Reduction program which includes weekly blood pressure screenings at the fire station\, home safety inspections\, rental inspections\, and Red Cross blood drives at the station. \nThe ballroom is only accessible by stairs. \nSponsored by the Laketown Township Parks and Recreation Commission.
